You need to also install the VC AIM module under the SystemEDGE agent. Once you do you'll have the following folder present:

C:\Program Files\CA\SystemEDGE\plugins\AIPCommon

In there will be a executable: nodecfgutil.exe.

You run this and it gives you a menu to add a managed node. Selecting that will be an option for "VMware vCenter". It is here you would add the vCenter host and user credentials to access the VMWare API.

The AIM module populates an enterprise mib on the local agent with vCenter Inventory data and then discovering this agent in Spectrum populates the Virtual Host Manager Application in Spectrum.

Hope this helps,

Hi all.
We are trying to get one esxi host with several vm´s on it including the
vcenterserver modeled as a virtual host in the Virtual Host Manager.
On the vcenterserver ( running on Windows Server 2008) we have installed the
system edge agent.
We have also followed the steps in the CA Spectrum Virtual Host Manager
Solution, without any luck.
I am able to get the vcenterserver with the system edge agent to be modelled in ca
spectrum, but it never shows up in the "virtual host manager»
Do I also have to model the esxi host in spectrum?

Any suggestions?
