Hi! I have always endorsed the idea about fused tiles. The tiles themselves do not necessarily have to be very thick. Slightly thincker than the ones found on the impossiball will be enough. On those tiles only a very small pin is enough to fix them firmly to the puzzle pieces (discs). Personally i would love to see those kinda tiles on regular cubes and for me i think i might prefer some hardened rubber of some kind and not plastic. This will ensure a better grip/hold of the cube. 2 kinds of tiles could eb supplied. Plastic and hardened rubber.
But realistically i can't see it happening. Seventowns have already declined remaking the deluxe/game cubes. So i can't see why they would would be willing with such an extensive redesign of the cube either. And also these days one can get very good stickers and tiles from cubesmith. The days of really lousy stickers are gone already :- ) Cheers! -Per > --- In [email protected], "Gilles Roux" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Embedded tiles could be cool. > Take a look at the 2 pictures I uploaded: > > http://photos.groups.yahoo.com/group/speedsolvingrubikscube/lst?.dir= / > Gilles > > My drawings are not accurate, real corner pieces are more > complicated, > it's just for the idea.
