Congratulations on getting down to 2 min. 

First of all, in short, yes you must learn to read notation if you
ever want to learn any algorithms. It isn't hard and it's almost
required if you want to get fast.

If you want some great sites, check out the links section at
speedcubing.com.

You can get a genuine Rubik's cube from Wal-Mart or Target.
