please help has any1 come across this and know the solution   everything works well till i do pppd call adsl   the error is pppd: pty option precludes specifying device name It thinks you are specifying a device name, which is not allowed when using the pty option. If you are really just giving "pppd call adsl" as the command line, it must be something in either /etc/ppp/peers/adsl or /etc/ppp/options   Can you post to the list the contents of those two files?   Cheers, Tony
