I'm encountering a problem with my speedtouch install, and I wasn't able to find any info on this in the archive. I'm setting up a RH 7.2 on a old 233 MMX box to use as a router with a SpeedTouch USB modem. So I'm trying to do this without recompiling the kernel ( approx. 4 hours for a previous suse install). So I followed the steps form the how-to, but instead of re-compiling the kernel I tried to use the basic kernel of the RH 7.2 wich seems to be the 2.4.7.10. 1. modem_run The modules load and modem_run part seem to run fine. Output of the modem_run in verbose mode give this : ADSL line is up, downstream at 608 kbit/s, upstream at 160 kbit/s ADSL link goes UP 2. pppd But when trying to make the dial up, I keep getting a message "LCP: timeout sending Config-Requests" wich ends the connection.
