Thanks allot, it all works fine now.

I added the full path to pppoa2 into ppp.conf, I then rebooted, it did not
work at first and gave an error message of "unrecognised protocol 0x7075"
when trying to start the connection. I had a look in the list archives,
nothing turned up for 0x7075 but I did notice that almost all the other
people having problems with a similar description were recommended to add
the full path of pppoa2 to ppp.conf. As I had already done this I was at a
bit of a loss as to what to do. I had a look through the documentation and
tried starting the connection manually, it didnt work. I then realised that
it maybe modem_run not finding the device (as this still came up with the
device not found error message on boot up), I checked the command line
parameters for modem_run and noticed -d, I tried:
modem_run -f /usr/local/libdata/mgmt.o -f -d /dev/ugen0
This took quite a while (a few seconds), I had a look at the modem and
lights were flashing on and off, the command didnt return any error
messages, I then edited the adsl rc.d script to include this extra parameter
for modem_run and on the next reboot it connected without a hitch. super!

Thanks allot for everyones time and effort in developing and supporting
these drivers, tommorow I will move over to a NetBSD gateway for my small
home network. The previous gateway software I had running was called
WinProxy by Ositis, it ran on windows, it cost me money (if I wanted what I
will have with bsd, I would of had to of paid more than a thousand dollars),
the tecnical support was absolutely terrible - NAT would _not_ work at all,
no matter what configuration I changed or how many times I re-installed the
software, all tecnical support seemed to be able to suggest was to
re-install the software, seriously, I was advised about five times to do
this and they had some stupid email system that closed a tecnical support
request within 48 hours if you hadnt replied to it. One less customer, one
more happy bsd user :-)

Thanks

Thomas M Clarke
