Hi, I'm trying to use a freebsd 5.1-CURRENT box as a firewall for adsl using my speedtouch usb (the green stingray). I read somewhere that freebsd 5 isnt supported, and I am willing to downgrade, but only if freebsd 5 is the cause of my problems!
Basically the driver (1.2beta2) installs fine, the modem connects fine and works wonderfully. But then... after a certain time (a few hours) it stops working. I dont know if it actually disconnects - both /var/log/ppp.log and /var/log/pppoa2.log get no entries into it once it stops working, but no traffic passes backwards and forwards (pings fail, no web traffic etc). Does anyone know what the cause is or what I could do to try and determine the cause? If I stop it and start it again (using the provided BSD script), it connects fine and works again but obviously this is not something I want to always be doing.
