Is-it user-mode or kernel-mode driver?
It was lot of problem reported with 2.6.5 kernel and usb adsl modems
drivers.
I don't remember if the speedtouch driver {user-mode|kernel-mode} were
impacted.
Could you try with 2.6.6 or 2.6.7?
2.6.8 may not be the best choice as usb troubles may come back again.
I report only feedback from other usb adsl drivers as I don't use the 2.6
tree and not too much was reported on the recent days on the speedtouch
list.
