[speedtouch] speedtouch 330 won't work with fedora core3

Hi! I'm using fedora core 3 and I' ve installed the speedtouch 330 modem 
folowing the instructions on this site. But now I can't get linux to boot. It 
says "bringing up interface ppp0" and stops booting. The modem is conected. I 
don't know what to do. Pls help!
