Thanks for the advice. I opened a terminal and typed

ping 68.142.197.78

and it kept repeating a message but with an icmp_seq count so I guessed
I hadn't done the right thing. So then I opened mozilla and typed

68.142.197.78

to which it added http:// at the front and an / at the end and up came
yahoo but without the pictures. I tried a search but it didn't seem to
be able to find addresses such as http://www.yahoo.com/ and so on. I
also tried some variations on the

68.142.197.78

altering some of the numbers and it seemed to be searching but as I do
not know the relevant numbers for my favourite websites I am stuck.

Can you tell me what to do now?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers

Tony Byrne
