Hello, I am running a speedtouch 330 on at an NSLU2 with Debian etch. I got today a second one, but to my surprise just exchanging the two devices did not work.
To be sure that it is not a power problem, I tried the new speedtouch 330 with and without (self-powered) usb hub. When looking into the log files (syslog), I found For the new speedtouch with USB hub: nslu2:~# grep -E '(speed|ATM)' /var/log/syslog Feb 3 12:20:49 dns kernel: usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 2 Feb 3 12:20:49 dns kernel: usb 3-1: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 2 Feb 3 12:20:49 dns kernel: usb 3-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 3 Feb 3 12:20:49 dns kernel: usb 3-1.2: new full speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4 Feb 3 12:20:49 dns kernel: usb 3-1.2: reset full speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4 Feb 3 12:20:49 dns kernel: usb 3-1.2: reset full speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4 Feb 3 12:20:49 dns kernel: usb 3-1.2: reset full speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4 Feb 3 12:20:49 dns kernel: usb 3-1.2: reset full speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4 Feb 3 12:20:49 dns kernel: speedtch 3-1.2:1.0: speedtch_bind: device reset failed (-19)! Can that be responsible for the difference? Or is it just broken hardware? Any hints are welcome, especially if somebody understands what in detail is not working.
