Hello,

I am running a speedtouch 330 on at an NSLU2 with Debian etch. I got today a
second one, but to my surprise just exchanging the two devices did not work.

To be sure that it is not a power problem, I tried the new speedtouch 330 with
and without (self-powered) usb hub.

When looking into the log files (syslog), I found

For the new speedtouch with USB hub:
nslu2:~# grep -E '(speed|ATM)' /var/log/syslog

When comparing the two devices they seem to run with the same firmware:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ awk '/4061/ { print $5 }' /proc/bus/usb/devices
0.01
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$

The label has a minor difference, on the working speedtouch it says

3EC18627CD AB5
CP0249KZ3KT

on the not working

3EC18627CD AB4
CP0236L3924

So it seems there is a subtle difference.

Can that be responsible for the difference? Or is it just broken hardware?
Any hints are welcome, especially if somebody understands what in detail is
not working.

Thanks,
Rainer
