==> The Taíno and their Use of Caves.
From World Caving News http://www.zenas.gr/WCN => 23 Jan. 2007.The Taínos'
origin myth is centered around a cave that was right here on the island of
Hispaniola. They say that the ancestor spirits lived in this cave, coming out
only at night to eat jobos, a small plum-like fruit. One night the jobos must
have tasted especially good, for some ancestor spirits were still outside the
cave eating them when the sun came up and turned them into human beings. Did
the Taíno really believe that there were no people on earth until this
happened?Article: http://www.centrelink.org/TainoCaves.html

==> The Norwegian Cave Dog.
From World Caving News http://www.zenas.gr/WCN => 23 Jan. 2007.The Norwegians
bred a unique dog. The resulting Lundehund was an extraordinary animal with
some unparalleled gifts. Also helpful when getting into and out of small caves
is the Lundehund's extraordinary flexibility. The Lundehund's forelegs can bend
outwards far enough for the dog to lay flat on its chest, with the legs in an
approximation of the human arm position. This kind leg flexibility is unheard
of, not just in dogs, but in quadrupeds. The only other four-footed mammal that
can match it is the reindeer. Details:
