There is an enhancement filed in the issue tracker http://code.google.com/p/sphinx/issues/detail?id=1 so I think it is not possible yet, but should come in the 0.5 Version http://groups.google.com/group/sphinx-dev/browse_thread/thread/e784469dbead3aa5
