Hi Nikolay, That's a good point. I tried upgrading PyFITS to the latest version to see if that would solve things, and it is working now. It looks like there may have been some changes to the function signatures in the warnings module since 2.6 and so the older version of PyFITS was choking when it got input formatted with the newer style.
