When I set my GM Alternator up last fall I noticed it was about a 1/4
of an inch too far forward. Not idea for the belt.

I would like to correct this problem so I have 2 options.

1. Tap the hole on the motor where the alternator sits so it will sit
back farther.

Or 2. Trim the Alternator.

Both have draw backs on the motor the hole in question is used to
lift the motor out of the car I believe and if I cut the alternator
I'm pretty sure that would void my core refund if it ever failed.

What is the best solution?
