You've got a bit of a problem. Spitfires (and other LBC's for that matter) use what is known as a bubble flare. This is an antiquated fitting. Modern cars, and cars for a long time have used what is called a double flare. They are different! The lines you see at the parts stores are almost always double flared, and will not work on the Spitfire.
The easiest solution is to buy a correct type line from a Spitfire parts vendor. Be it Spitbits, Vicky Brit, Moss, whoever. They will all have the correct flare type and simply bolt in. You can try to make the flare yourself, but it's not easy. Especially with the hardened lines and the cheap flare kits on the market today. You may also get lucky and be able to order a properly fitted generic line from the likes of NAPA and such. But you will have to deal with the incorrect length, and trying to bend it to fit...without kinking it. /// [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list /// Send admin requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED] /// or try http://www.team.net/cgi-bin/majorcool /// Archives at http://www.team.net/archive /// Send list postings to [EMAIL PROTECTED] /// Edit your replies!
