Larry, In stock trim, my 1980 would not safely merge onto something like I-240. But with some tweaking, mostly being the dual SU's, the car will merge safely. With the overdrive, the car will easily run up and cruise at 70-80 mph all day long.
However, as fun as the Spitfire is, it's not an interstate car. It doesn't have the performance of the new cars, and is tiny. While it is capable of blasting down the interstate, fun is to be had on secondary roads. Will you be able to outrun anyone that says "wanna race"?
