hi, my name is hiroshi akima, Ph.D., emailing from japan. I want to know
the difference of meaning between "sports science" and "exercise science".
For example, EMG activity of thigh muscles during competitive cycling, I
think this is sports science study. how about this example, EMG activity of
thigh muscles during isokinetic knee extension exercise, this is "exercise
science" study, because isokinetic knee extension is not sports but
exercise.
What is the difference in meaning of two words, i.e. sports science and
exercise science, among native english speakers. Furthermore, I feel sports
science is frequently used in the Europe than the US and exercise science is
frequently used in the US than the Europe.
Anyone knows well about that, please response.
