I am currently involved in a dissertation research project and am looking
at the effects of acute dynamic stretching and static stretching on
eccentric hamstring strength in sprinters.

I have been searching for scientific papers relating to the efficacy of
dynamic stretching in performance and also examples of programmes. There
are plenty of anecdotal articles but not a great deal utilising clinical
trials. I have searched on PubMed, British Library COPAC, LWW online, and
JAP online. Any further leads from the forum would be appreciated.

So far I have the following key papers:

Cornwell, A., Nelson, A.G., Heise, G.D., and Sidway, B. (2001). Acute
effects of passive muscle stretching on vertical jump performance. Journal
of Human Movement Studies, 40, 307-324.

Kokkonen, J., Nelson, A.G., and Cornwall, A. (1998). Acute muscle
stretching inhibits maximal strength performance. Research Quarterly for
Exercise and Sport, 69(4), 411-415.

Knudson, D., Bennett, K., Corn, R., Leick, D., Smith, C.(2001). Acute
Effects of Stretching Are Not Evident in the Kinematics of the Vertical
Jump. Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research: 15(1), 98101.

Nelson, A. G., Kokkonen, J. (2001). Acute Ballistic Stretching inhibits
maximal strength performance. Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport,
72, 415-419.

Nelson, A.G., Ivan, K. Guillory, A.,Cornwell, A., Kokkonen, J.(2001).
Inhibition of Maximal Voluntary Isokinetic Torque Production Following
Stretching Is Velocity-Specific. Journal of Strength and Conditioning
Research: 15(2), 241246.

Thanks for your time.
