Dear WG,

We have just submitted a new version of
draft-ietf-spring-srv6-srh-compression.

Based on the feedback and suggestions from WG participants and
implementers, this revision clarifies the SR Source Node (Sec. 7) and
Control Plane (Sec. 9) requirements for the SIDs defined in this document.

The changes are as follows.

- Section 7 (SR Source Node)
  - Added a set of rules for the SR source node to validate the SIDs of
this document before using them in a segment list (new Sec. 7.1), following
off-list comments from implementers.
  - Clarified that the compression algorithm described in this section may
apply to any segment list that contains at least one of the SIDs of this
document, following off-list comments from implementers. The algorithm
compresses the eligible SIDs of the uncompressed segment list, while the
remaining non-eligible SIDs are left uncompressed in the result segment
list.
  - Added a method to determine the C-SID length of REPLACE-C-SID flavor
SIDs, which is needed for the compression, following co-author reviews.
- Section 9 (Control Plane)
  - Clarified that the SR endpoint nodes must advertise the SIDs of this
document in their control-plane protocols with an argument value of 0 and a
SID structure matching the SID format on the SR endpoint node, following
off-list questions from implementers.
- Other changes
  - Clarified in Sec. 4.2.7 the encoding of Arg.FE2 argument for End.DT2M
behavior with the REPLACE-C-SID flavor, following co-author reviews.
  - Added in Sec. 13 a new implementation report and references to recent
interoperability testings.
  - A few editorial changes.

Thanks,
Francois (on behalf of the C-SID co-authors)
