Hi WG,

This new revision of draft-ietf-spring-resource-aware-segments is to address
the GEN-ART, OPS-DIR and SEC-DIR review comments received.

The major changes include:

- A terminology section is added as suggested.
- Text to clarify the scope of inter-domain link is added.
- Further clarification about the recommendation about PHP for SR-MPLS.
- Further clarification about the relationship between resource-aware SRv6 SIDs
and the SRv6 locator.
- Some more text in control plane considerations about resource-aware SID and
resource group provisioning
- Enhanced text in operational considerations
- Enhanced text in security considerations

Many thanks to the reviewers and we would confirm with them whether their
comments have been addressed.

Best regards,
Jie (on behalf of coauthors)

Subject: [spring] I-D Action: draft-ietf-spring-resource-aware-segments-18.txt

Internet-Draft draft-ietf-spring-resource-aware-segments-18.txt is now
available. It is a work item of the Source Packet Routing in Networking
(SPRING) WG of the IETF.

Title: Introducing Resource Awareness to SR Segments
   Authors: Jie Dong
            Takuya Miyasaka
            Yongqing Zhu
            Fengwei Qin

   Name: draft-ietf-spring-resource-aware-segments-18.txt
   Pages: 20
   Dates: 2026-05-14

Abstract:

This document describes a mechanism to allocate network resources to
one or a set of Segment Routing Identifiers (SIDs). Such SIDs are
referred to as resource-aware SIDs. The resource-aware SIDs retain
their original forwarding semantics, with the additional semantics to
identify the set of network resources available for the packet
processing and forwarding action. The proposed mechanism is
applicable to both segment routing with MPLS data plane (SR-MPLS) and
segment routing with IPv6 data plane (SRv6).
