Would it be possible to install a small break tank affair with vortex plate
and accessories, join it to the other tanks, and conceptualize the other
tanks as "the rest of the volume of a irregularly shaped tank?

If it is possible, thru the use of drain outlets or extra plugged outlets,
to oversize the connection pipes from min diameter reqd for the pump
suction, a case could be made that the draw from the new small tank provides
the necessary vortex plate and other accessories and the level switch will
certainly monitor the entire affair, water seeks its own level.

That, and Ed's brainstorm of some floor hatches in the kitchen floor could
save a bundle of money and a lot of time/headaches, etc.

Subject: Re: retrofitting suction tank

My 2 cents. A new access added to the front seems like what should
have been done in the first place -- unless you can do something
crazy like temporarily rotate the tank so the that the top man-way is
at 3 o'clock. Fixing it without making a real access leaves the owner
with one of the original problems. Sooner or later they'll need to
get into the tank for some work
