Rick,
The way my dog eats it, you would think that there was a toy at the bottom.

Would smaller or granulated dry dog food (Kibbles and Bits) be classified
higher than large dog food like for St. Bernard.

Thank You

rough guidelines...and I do mean "rough guidelines" so don't kick me for
making up stuff.

Class 1 - noncombustible (doesn't burn) stuff like metal and glass
Class 2 - Class 1 in a wooden crate where the box will burn
Class 3 - combustible stuff like paper and wood
Class 4 - Class 1, 2, or 3 with "appreciable" amount of plastic

by elimination, I would say dog/cat food is Class 3 ... unless you consider
the plastic toy at the bottom of the bag ...oops, I was thinking of my
breakfast cereal.

also, if using plastic pallets instead of wooden pallets, then raise the
class one level.

Forum,
I could use a little input on determining the commodity classification
for dog/cat food. It is packed in various bag sizes and palletized in
various configurations. I am looking for input on the classification
i.e. I, II, III or IV. Any advice?

Marc
