Check out the new NFPA 14 check valves are required. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, April 11, 2007 8:52 AM To: [email protected] Subject: *****SPAM***** RE: Check Valves on Sprinkler Control Stations
I stand corrected, I haven't dabbled in any high rise stuff lately. Guess that way the contractor doesn't have to shut down the floor control valves if the riser is disabled. <:| Craig L. Mandatory now and I couldn't agree more. Tom Generally you have a control valve assembly of some sort on each floor so you can isolate and test each floor. Personally, I don't see any value in the check valve. Craig L. Prahl, CET Not a code requirement but is it good practice to install a check valve on floor control stations for a multi story building or high-rise etc. The intent would be for maintenance work to the riser that all of the system valves would not have to be closed and the floor systems would not be drained inadverntly. Anyone installing chack valves here or not worth the expense? Are there any other benefits?
