Test messages ARE NOT ALLOWED to be sent to the SprinklerFORUM.
.... and frequent participants of the Forum should know better than
to reply to such messages. As a result of this test message and the
completely unnecessary replies....
- 12,500 email messages have been generated and sent through our
email server;
- 17 useless messages have been added to the archives database;
- people who rely on the SprinklerFORUM for good technical
information have received 17 worthless messages;
- staff time will be spent in cleaning up the archives.
The SprinklerFORUM has been and continues to be an excellent
technical resource for the fire sprinkler industry. Idle chatter like
this diminishes the value. I'm going to let it slide this time, but
the next time we have this occurrence, each person responding to a
test message will be suspended from SprinklerFORUM participation for
30 days. My sincere thanks to all of you who used good judgment and
knew that if you had nothing serious to contribute you shouldn't reply.
I'd also suggest that any responses about this issue (except those
sent to my personal email address) would be inappropriate and result
in the same suspension.
