I was envolved in a similar approach to pre-action in seperate buildings and
eventually abandoned the idea for many reasons(drainage,dry pipe underground,
& actuation lines).We ended up installing a riser & controls in each building.
I have installed dry pipe underground using schedule 40 black pipe with a
3-layer bituminous coating("Scotch-wrap" by 3M).Good luck.
