Steve,
Since Joe mentioned they'd be taking the suction from a pond, and the
pump house was at the edge of the pond I would think that A.7.2.2.1
would be better. It's described as "in a well" which is somewhat
similar to a pond.
The sketch you're referencing is appears to be in a concrete lined
wet-pit which is a different matter entirely.
If it were me, I'd use the one for a well.
Just my thoughts.
