Hello sprinklerforum,

I have a location where the boilers, domestic water pumps, backup
generator and diesel fire pump are located in the same mechanical space.
To make a long story short one of the boilers "blew out" a couple of
bolts, The ensuing hot water spray was focused on the Fire Pump
Controller.... When they got the water shut off and someone opened the
door to the controller I was told the water was about 2 feet deep inside
the controller (only a 6 inch lip at the bottom). Priced them a new
fire pump controller, jockey pump controller, and air compressor. Jockey
pump control 1 foot to the left and air compressor 6 inches to the right of
the fire pump controller. NOW they want to energize the pump controllers
and "see if they work" since they have had 2 days to "dry out". Can
anyone site me the code references in the 2007 NFPA that does not allow
leaving these items in service after this much internal water exposure? I
am digging in the books now but have not found it yet.

Yes the electronics circuit boards toward the bottom of the FP control
  were under water.
