Can someone explain the intent of NFPA 13 2007 Sec 8.6.5.3.3 with regards to open grate flooring? I have 2 projects that are using this type of flooring in several different scenarios.
1) Open grate flooring platform 6ft sq, elevated 10 ft in a 25 ft bldg for conveyor loading or servicing. Sprinklers below? 2) Open grate flooring for a mezz 10ft W x 20ft L. Sprinklers below? 3) Open grate flooring for a cat walk. Steel bldg 25H x 80L x 40W sprinkler protection at the roof level. Cat walk 6ft below roof and take up half the bldg. Used for light suspension below that can be moved around. (Event center) Thanks in advance.
