I was at a location yesterday where they have had a problem of splits in CPVC pipe in a basement. The fire pump churn is roughly 175 psi but the jockey pump is set at 150 psi. Would repeated water hammer from weekly/quarterly/annual tests create enough fatigue to cause failure?
