So if you're able or someone else is able to buy life insurance on you, the Insurance industry has worked out all those messy situations where in you do die earlier rather than later. All their formula's and graphs don't mean anything on an individual basis, but get a large enough group together and WAMO it works! Just like AFSA has more clout than Firetech Inc. AARP doesn't consistently vote as a block anywhere except in FL. So quitting won't un-burden your children or their children. Just as saying you're not going to vote I the next election, to un-burden your children is about as backwards as it gets. Doing more, not less works. More involvement, not less gives you a place to express your ideas, goals and hopes. To stop talking cause no-one's listening won't change anyone's mind. AARP is made up of a majority of grandparents. If they are like most grandparents, they too don't want to burden their children or grand children. Maybe they just need a G. to tell them that if you want Medicare to buy all the drugs your Dr. can prescribe, that's not a right, but a debt your children and grand children will be paying forever.
