All I've ever been able to get is mfgrs. recommendations Todd, no clear code
direction. It became an issue with a 4" inlet m/s pump fed by an 8" supply
one time, more directly on the clean supply line and what size. They
stepped down to 6" and ran the appropriate diameters length to the main
os&y, tee, suction os&y and reducer, to 4". I can see an issue with
turbulence bolting multiple reducers on the suction side but not sure about
discharge. I'm sure there's a single reducer available.
At that time, the factory rep suggested maintaining 10 diameters between
steps of more than one pipe size on supply which is what they did (except
for the 6x4 bolted to the suction flange). Hope this helps.
They didn't order it from a warehouse did they?
Tom

Be careful on the suction side---- eccentric, top flat

Any issues with having multiple reducers on the suction or discharge
on a pump? It is what the supplier sent.
