Look at the Table in NFPA 13, 16.2.3.1, you have limitations on the allowable
height of the building when using ESFR. So you're not going to be able to go
ESFR and no in-rack sprinklers with your situation.

You're pretty much stuck with ceiling sprinklers and in-rack sprinklers plus
sprinklers below the grated platform levels.

Subject: RACK STORAGE, GRATED AISLES.

I have a project that consist in a single rack storage system up to 16m
(53ft) height, ceiling height about 23m (75ft) with possibilities of install a
suspended ceiling in order to reduce the clearance up to 3m (10ft), the aisles
are distributed one aisle for forklift transit and one aisle with catwalks
(four levels every 3m (10 ft).
The merchandise is commodity class IV.

The sprinkler protection now consist in ceiling sprinklers plus 3 levels of
rack sprinklers and two levels of sprinkles under catwalks (grates 70% open).

We are looking for an especific aplication sprinker array that can reduce the
quantities of materials using ceiling ESFR sprinklers and one level of racks
sprinklers.
Is this posible?

Regards.
