SSU are not specifically listed for CC spaces less than 36" in depth. They are 
listed for CC spaces though. Which is what drove the manufacturers to produce 
the "CC" heads.

8.14.1.6 states "horizontal combustible concealed spaces". There is no 
reference to exclude trusses, joists or TJI's. Unless I am missing something.

Tony, it may sound a bit nit-picking, but NFPA 13 only requires CC sprinklers 
when the space has wood trusses or wood joists.  You have TJI's, so you don't 
have to use them - use standard-spray QR heads.  Is that crazy?
Yea, but that's the way it's written.  The commentary in the handbook gives 
supports to the above.
