Subject: Sprinklers under overhead doors

I am looking for confirmation that sidewall sprinklers under overhead garage
doors should not be included in the hydraulic calcs since if the door is
closed, only the heads at the ceiling would operate and if the door is open,
only the sidewall sprinklers under the door would operate. Personally, I
see no need to include both heads above and below the door in the design
area. However, I found no reference to this situation in NFPA 13.
