> NICET is currently conducting a beta test of the Level I exam for
> Water-Based Fire Protection Systems Layout, so we are looking for
> individuals with less than 2 years of sprinkler layout experience to
> participate. The test is free, though there will be a fee later for
> work history evaluation for those who pass the beta and wish to
> certify. This is an easy way for layout techs who are new to the
> business to try out the new tests and take a step towards
> certification.

> If you have a way to spread the word, we would appreciate it.
> Anyone may apply for the beta test using the link below:

> More information about the test is available on the form. Because
> the beta testers, in aggregate, must meet a certain statistical
> profile, it is unlikely that all applicants will be accepted for
> beta testing.
>
> The beta window runs through late June, but the test centers are
> busy this time of year, so candidates should apply early.
