Ladies/Gentlemen: I have always tossed around the number "One in Sixteen Million" - based not on NFPA but years of published statistical analysis by Factory Mutual Engineering. In just over 35 years, I have 'investigated' a half-dozen "failures" - only to discover there was an "event" that caused the sprinkler to activate (heat, vandalism, etc.)
