We have a lot of limited sprinkler systems we inspect. There are a lot of them that are 1 to 3 sprinklers off of a domestic feed with copper piping. NFPA 25 (2011) says that you do not have to do internal pipe inspections on non-metallic pipe. It does not say anything about other situations. It does not seem to make a lot of sense to do an internal inspection on a limited system with 1 or 2 sprinklers off of copper piping from domestic water. Most of these don't have drains or flow switches; just a sprinkler, ball valve and maybe 20' of copper pipe. How do any of you handle these?
