Brother fitter, cumulative length of an armover is the total length from
threads
to end of fitting. If you have a 11 1/2" pipe nipple AO EOC you have a
cumulative length of over 12" which requires a hanger over 100 psi. Field talk,
if the measurement from threads to end of fitting is more than 12" you need a
hanger, not center, end of fitting. Go with what is cheaper, and allowed with
AHJ, for a hanger, a shotgun, 3/8 insert, quick bolt aka red head, TBC, Sammy,
etc. Sometimes you have to run a TOR with a nipple cap 4' to catch a bar joist
because of a 11" AO to get 12" Center of Tile. Check your work order to specify
what COT is permissable. Some COT jobs have a tolerance of up to 2" to 4" on
any
side to sell the job. Fitter make sure your COT lines up one way down a
corridor
or one big room with many heads. Give your customer the best work for their $.
BTW Fitter y'all ain't doing new contract today, even in TX, so keep your
racist, sexist, jokes until y'all get
 in the van

What happens in the van stays in the van.
