I was just asked a question by a local AHJ....there is a light hazard bldg with cpvc pipe hung using ATR 15-17' long. When the pressure was relieved the system moved so much they are afraid it is not stable enough to operate properly if a head activated.
I know the requirement for vertical restraint near the sprinkler heads, but what if the pipe system is so flexible that there is enough lateral movement to allow the heads to pop up above the ceiling?
