Cory, The questions would include, assuming this is a dry pipe sprinkler system in accordance with NFPA 13: 1) what orifice size are the sprinklers in the system, and 2) where does NFPA 13 allow the use of more than one orifice for a single dry system?

It would be much easier to have one 11.2k orifice above the hub drain than two 5.6 k's. -- Cory Power P& P Sprinklers Ltd 6 Main Rd Chapel Arm, NL A0B 1L0 Ph: (709) 592-2029 Fax: (709) 592-2019 On 10/4/2011 6:07 PM, Justin Reid wrote: > The Q=k*sqrt(p) math says that it should be equal flow with equal pressure. > I guess you would have slightly less pressure with the 11.2 since there is > more flow(friction). > > I just had an issue yesterday trying to get a flow valve to trip with a > remote test (one head) and thought the same thing (to look at using two > heads). > > Good luck, > > Justin Reid > > > > > On Tue, Oct 4, 2011 at 1:13 PM, Cory Power<[email protected]> wrote: > >> Just wondering if anyone have used an 11.2 K Orifice to substitute for two >> 5.6 k heads on an OH1 Dry Inspectors test?
