It will be a short run, just out and up the outside wall.  I will be
using  galv pipe and fittings with tar / wrap on the pipe.

Steel pipe, even galvanized, doesn't last all that long underground, in
my experience.
If it's a minimal run, propably your only option though. Uniflange is a
good idea.
