Frequently for EC or concealed projects this is exactly how it lines up for us,
the UL QR listing satisfies NFPA 13, and FM doesn't need to accept the head as
QR since they don't require QR. Another one we run into is that FM requires a
lot of areas we would otherwise call light hazard (certain office
configurations for example) to be treated as a higher hazard class, but we
still put in QR heads to satisfy the NFPA 13 as QR in light hazard is a life
safety concern and upgrading the density doesn't necessarily negate the need
for them per the handbook. Storage areas get more complicated but that's for
design area reasons. Thankfully our state tends to accept FM as an equivalency
without having to go after variances etc.

Then you can use a head that is UL Listed QR/FM SR to comply with NFPA and FM,
correct?

Table 3 in FM 2-0 lists spacing allowed for quick and standard response heads
in hazard category 1, so I am guessing they allow both.

Matt,

Does FM require QR sprinklers in LH?

Matt,
Based on what I saw on their website this morning they don't have and EC
concealed which is approved. They have a good number of recessed EC sprinklers
in both light and ordinary hazard applications, but no concealed.
