After you've read the annex you can get loss of service info from the
electrical utility. The local private electrical utility responds better to
inquiry from the AHJ directly.

I found the language about regional disaster not being included a little
strange. We had one fire directly caused by the Nisqually earthquake.

Refer to NFPA 20, 2010, Annex A.9.3.2. There is also some verbiage in NFPA 70,
695.3 which refers to NFPA 20, A.9.3.2.

Subject: Reliable Power

Good Morning,

We are in a discussion with a building owner as to what is considered reliable
commercial power. Has anyone encountered a jurisdiction that has a fair
written policy as to what is considered reliable power?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
