Just did one with one of our local contractors... pumped up on arrival,
plans available at inspection, largely installed to plan with minor changes
documented by the engineer, no leaks, fitter tells me they went back over
the job and pumped up the other day to be sure it would pass
inspection................white sticker ROUGH APPROVED no fuss no muss.

Why can't they all go this way ?

Good Job

Greg,

I would use a short nipple and 90 up to do that...you're too close to do it
with out kinking the flex which is a NO NO. If this is an existing BL
situation that's the way to go...if you are going in new just point the
outlets up.Nipple...90...tape and dope...leave the 300 on the truck.

To answer your question...about 10"~12" away...if you use a nipple and 90
you can go to either side of the line...gives you more flexibility with
lights and grilles.

Greg...I use flex alot...greatest thing for us in many years. I keep 40~50
in stock for service calls all the time. I just did a tenant build out down
here in Ft. Lauderdale...existing rough piping in place. We used 150 72" UL
Flex from ARGCO with recessed heads center of 2 x 2...job went in for a .3
unit hour A~Z!!! I love these things. We hit the job before anybody
else...install the Flex with head and spinner...tie it up with "hand cuff"
zip ties...turn the water on and leave. As soon as the grid starts...we give
them about 4~6 hour head start then we come in and run right up his ass all
the way to the end. As soon as the grid is in we call for a rough
inspection. When the tiles are in at the head we call for a final...first
trade in...first trade out.

I have been doing this for 40 years and have more fun doing this kind of
work than any I know of.

Call me if you have any questions.

Subject: Distances for flex heads

We do not use flex heads very often so I don't have much experience with
them. I need to know if the BL is 8" above the ceiling, how far away
horizontally do you need to be if you are coming out of the side of the BL
in order to do a simple over and down with a 24" Flexible connector?

Thanks for the help
