I have a situation where a building owner added ceiling fans (instead of low profile lights) in a 13R occupancy with an existing sprinkler system. 13 and 13R discuss horizontal distance from sprinklers to ceiling fans, but nothing is said about vertical distance. The ceilings are high enough so the fans could be dropped. I know there was a study in 2005 regarding fan/sprinkler interaction, but I don't have access to a copy. Any input?
