Go with Silver as a minimum, preferably gold. The additional tools make up the cost difference very quickly. You don't need AutoCAD with AutoSprink. If you want a fully functional DWG program to clean up drawings and such, you can go with ProgeCAD for about $300. It has 99% of the tools that AutoCAD has that I use.

Thanks all for responses to date, I had a feeling this would be the
response.

I have always thought AutoSprink was much more expensive but I noticed an
advert from last year on their facebook for $995 for the bronze package.
Seems very reasonable.

I'll reinforce that on Autosprink. It has a lot of options and can work
well in a variety of situations. Everybody else is pretty much playing catch
up with them. Not cheap, but well worth the investment.

Ditto.

Been using it for 12 years, also it does Metric, just have to setup
your default properties for showing metric and it'll show on hydraulics
also.

Subject: Sprinkler Design & Hydraulics Package

I Know this has been through the forum before but I would like
some
fresh opinions on the best combined sprinkler design & hydraulics
package.
In particular I would be interested in opinions of their 3D/ BIM
Approaches i.e. HydraCAD draw in 2D & convert Vs AutoSprink 3D Native.

I am based in Europe so would be using metric units and we have
slightly
different requirement when it comes to hydraulic Calcs.

At the moment I am using standalone AutoCAD & Hydraulics packages
but am
finding myself spending more time updating both drawing and calcs
file as clients drawings develop and have a knock on effect.
