I found this from the archives--

FM Data
Sheet 3-0 HYDRAULICS OF FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS.

On page 21, for the Density/Demand Area Format, in a nutshell it says 1.2
for ceiling slopes less than or eq. to 5 degree (1 in 12 i think), and 1.4
for slopes greater than that!

No telling how long that had been in FM's data sheet.
Anyway, haven't they gone to 'so many heads at such and such PSI'?
And the last shape factor I was told to calc is to approximate a square...
3-4 months ago.

Remember that one 1:1.2 and 1:1.4 are both minimums. If you can do 1:1.4 or
better you should always be good.
