Greg,

It seems to me that the riser control valve and flow switch for the system 
itself satisfies the Alabama requirement; however, have the elevator installer, 
or the party that hired you, provide any local AHJ specific criteria you need 
to include in your design. No doubt the local Fire Department has such 
information available.

I was told by an elevator installer today in Alabama that the state requires 
control valves and flow switches on all lines feeding sprinklers in the pit and 
equipment rooms. I cannot find this requirement anywhere.
