Just thought I'd share with the senior demographic that I have just made
a difficult but prudent decision regarding space planning and resource
management in our new office. We've moved to a new suite within the
same building, so had the luxury of moving individual work stations and
components very deliberately from upstairs to down, without having to
box everything up and then unpack. In the course of putting things into
place in the new office, I had to confront my treasured catalog library.
Fact is that I only use hard copies of three or four catalogs with any
regularity and just about everything we need is on-line. I've been
having a hard time letting go, if only out of habit and fond memories.
but I eventually determined that the common sense course of action was
to aggressively thin out my collection. So, not having touched them
since we last moved 5 years ago, I just said goodbye to my Firematic,
Star, Automatic, Central, Viking Foam, Viking Supplynet, Gem and
Grinnell books. I still have my Potter Roemer catalog but I admit that
I really don't need it. And what the hell was Sclairpipe - how did
that even get in there?
